McCain just lost the election, plain and simple.
This cowardly move that he made will be seen for what it is. Remember Perot in 92? That is what McCain just turned into.

2. If played correctly, I agree.
I wonder if McCain thinks that black ninjas are going to ruin his daughter's wedding.

4. It alllllllll depends on the media reaction, sad to say.
If they start calling him a "MAVERICK OMG LET ME SUCK YOU OFF MISTA MCCAIN", then we're gonna be frustrated again.

If they actually do their jobs and say, "Why, when Obama clearly initiated contact, did McCain overreact so badly? And why does he feel the need to cancel the debate?" then maybe--yeah.

14. From what I've seen/heard so far:
Fox News actually laughed and then discussed how ridiculously poltical this is.

Another DUer said MSNBC wondered how McCain could be ready for the WH if he can't campaign and deal with this crisis at the same time.

I'm now watching CNN and will add their analysis soon.

15. What is this thread about?
So far there isn't a thing in this thread that gives any indication what the heck it is talking about, for anyone who isn't plugged into the brains of the posters. Yet it has 9 votes. What the hell did he do that you are all talking about?

20. He wants to cancel tomorrow's debate.

This was apparently precipitated by Obama offering to issue a joint statement on the economic crisis highlighting the points upon which they agree. McCain tried to upstage Obama -- who made the offer privately, so he wasn't onstage anyway -- by issuing a public challenge to cancel the debate.

Obama returned the volley by saying that *he* for one has no problem working on the debate and the economic crisis at the same time.

Although, I think it's more likely that he just noticed that he's losing, so he wants to call the game.
