Dole 2008!

Senator McCain "suspension" of his campaign reminds me of the Dole '96 strategy of staying in the Senate to use his position as Senate Majority Leader to push legislation that would butress his campaign. He got so tied up in legislative minutiae that he was forced to resign from his Senate seat to campaign full time.
