3. Obama never campaigned in WV, and was blown out there in the primaries.

I'm really surprised to see WV closer than OH in some polls. And this is not the first one...

8. I'm assuming more of WV's voters than usual, at least in recent years,

are considering "coming home" to the Democrats based on the economy. I'm still doubtful that we can win it, but I'd at least like to this once solidly Democratic state close. It depressed the hell out of me in '04 to see that state go for * in '04 by a double-digit margin; I'm assuming based upon his beating his religion into the ground and idiotic ad campaigns like "Kerry will ban the Bible."
