Is some McCain insider sabotaging the campaign? |
|
Seriously. Is that possible? Because I can't figure out why they would have done this thinking it would be a good thing for them.

1. As somebody here pointed out, McC is down in the polls and they are |
|
taking whatever action they can in an attempt to stop that and turn this around.

2. I bet John "maverick" McCain is enough of a loudmouth bully |
|
to screw up his own campaign. ;-)

5. It may be the smartest thing they could do. |
|
Wasn't it Lincoln who said, "better to remain silent and let them think you're a fool, then to speak and prove them right?"
McCain has lost his god-damn fucking mind. There IS something very wrong with him. He's barely coherent anymore. There's no way a debate would be a positive thing for him.
Palin... fuck. Where do I start? I really didn't think it was possible, but the Republican Party actually found someone DUMBER than BUSH. Have you seen her take the planted questions from the audience? She fucks up on THOSE questions. Biden would rip her to shreds. She would look absolutely foolish. No way debating is a positive thing for her.
They've done the only thing they can do. Shut it down. Attempt to win a few idiots over by claiming you're "above" politics. And coast the rest of the way to November hoping the American public doesn't care that you won't explain yourself or debate your ideas in a manner that is respectful to our democracy.

6. I think you're exactly right. . . . |
|
It feels to me like it's actually come down to playing the "we're above politics" card. Picking up their toys and going home and pretending it's the "high road" is all they've got.
