Obama should offer to switch debate topic to the economy!
"If John McCain wants to deal with this question now, let's do it in a dialogue with the American people."

I'd love to see the reaction on the McCain people's face when they get hit with that!

For a hint of how well that would go over with the McCain campaign:

4. Some were claiming it was a tactical mistake for Obama to agree to having FP
be the subject of the first debate, which is typically the most watched and is supposedly McCain's strong point.

6. I think he should leave it as is.

The debate formats always go off course. If he wants to say so, fine, but this is an easy call.

8. It's a perfect opportunity to play rope a dope.
The McCain people set themselves up to get walloped. Obama would just be obliging them.

McCain is bluffing. He was asking Obama to call it in a BIG way.

7. My bet is that McLiar tries to get the Moose to debate Obama in his place.
McCain will stay in DC and look "presidential," and he will send Palin to debate Obama in Miss and make him hold his word that he thinks the debates should go on.

Slimy and bullshit, but I won't be surprised to see it happen.
