They want to pull Obama into Washington - Foggy Bottom
I don't think it is only McCain who wants this, it includes Bush. They want to pull Obama and the entire Democratic party into a photo op so blame for the economic mess is evenly distributed.

My guess is that internals are showing HUGE losses in the House and Senate, and reluctance from current members to support Bush/McCain. So when McCain got pulled into the swamp by Pelosi yesterday, now they want Obama into the swamp with them.
