So McCain suspends campaign and suggests |
|
postponing the debate. Tonight Shrub is going to appear on tv and tell all of us how desperate the times are. This will be followed up by McCain saying that these are extraordinary times which call for extraordinary measures and that he is going back to DC; that he will not be debating.
The ball then flips into Obamas court.
What is Obama's response?
Is he going to show up in Mississippi and debate an open chair?
Is he going back to Washington, while it appears that McCain has taken the leadership issue?
Is he going to campaign somewhere else?
Is he going to hold a news conference while McCain is in DC "leading?"
Obama was clearly moving ahead of McCain, but as all of us know, it is all about the visual, not the substance in this country. Who is going to look most "presidential" in all of this. Who is putting "country first?" I fear that so many people will be unable to see through all of this.
This has all been set up and harmonized with the White House and McCain' campaign.
The question: How does Obama respond if the aforesaid occurs?

3. McCain will be at the debate, mark my words..... |

..... he will look like a deer caught in headlights, but he will be there.
He's not gonna fight it after how things went down this afternoon.

4. Obama's response was perfect |
|
He can do both. It is now more important than ever for the American people to hear what the candidates have to say.
Good grief, the debate time is shorter than most dinner hours.

7. This will only tie Bush and McLiar more closely together. |
|
Obama needs to stay on track and do exactly what he said he would do in his speech this afternoon. If he gets calls from the hill that he truly needs to be there, he will be there.
McLiar can wrap himself as close to Bush as he wants on this one. He will only reinforce Obama's points that he has been driving home for months now.
Obama knows when and how he needs to make a critical decision and he will do so in a perfectly executed manner.
People don't want to see government officials battling on Capitol Hill, they want to know the right thing is being done, and more importantly, with 40 days until the election, they want to see the candidates discussing these issues on a national stage in the debates.
Obama needs to stick to his course and he will be fine.

and so far the press is in agreement... I think it turns out good/great for him. Only Fox viewers will see it McCain's way and they're not voting Obama anyways.
