It sounds like Obama is going, with or without McCane. Will McCane leave an empty podium there? I don't think so.

9. I think the Repugs would love to see Obama "debate" Palin.
I bet they are frothing at prospect... She'll "win" (in their eyes) no matter what.

5. If McCain tries to pull this
I hope the debate commission will not allow for such monkey business. If they do, then Obama needs to walk out. He's not running for president against Sally-Jo or Dale-Lee.

13. If McCain tries to insert Palin
...then Obama needs to counter with Biden. But really, the commission should not allow for this game playing. Show up or shut up.

As it is they are afraid to let either candidate even talk to reporters let alone debate.

14. Why not? We're not talking about reasonable people here.
They don't follow the rules. They make them up as they go. Who needs the clue?

last word on this. Period. You really have no idea how it works, do you?

18. Okay. You're the commission.
P.C. #1 wants to send someone in his place -- anyone. Otherwise, there is no debate. What do you do?

Seems you might want to run it by the P.C. #2 first, before you make a decision.

It's not in Obama's interest not to have a debate. He might go for it...

neither will the commission.

23. So, you can cite a rule?
Edited on Wed Sep-24-08 05:49 PM by OmahaBlueDog
Just wondering.

Also, typically, can't a debate rule be suspended by mutual agreement of the opponents?
