Has a Presidential candidate EVER *suspended* a campaign before?
And especially just over a month before elections?

I can't remember ANY instance of it in American history.

1. Not officially that I know of, but I think Bob Dole gave up towards the end in 1996.

2. What *is* a suspended campaign?
Is this a legal status? Does it simply mean that he doesn't make appearances and run ads? Something in between? Something totally different?

10. Randi was saying that
she was seeing evidence of it from radio stations all across the country with them pulling down McCain ads that were supposed to run and filling the space with something else. To me, this looks like two things;
1: a quitter and
2: a coward

3. Pattern seems consistent with much of his life.
I'm thinking he's the opposite of his POW image.

A quitter, hence the "maverick" image.

Viet Nam not withstanding, he can't handle regimentation.

He stayed on in Viet Nam, because it would have been as much as his life was worth (both physically and financially) to come home.

Why won't he open up those POW MIA records?

5. Didn't Perot?
I dont recall exactly what went on then, but didn't he suspend his campaign and later attempt to re-enter the race?

6. Oh, yeah, Perot
I remember that his supporters were ENRAGED when that happened.

I wonder what kind of madness is going on in the McPalin camp tonight?
