13. I would assume that the Senate would also vote on this bill...
And that they were working on their own (now defunct) version.

19. Which would have to go to concurrence or Conference Committee.
Iow, it still allows McCluck to stall.

23. The Senate version is not defunct in any respect
They can pass a version completely differenct than the House.

You know, excessive weepiness is a side-effect of painkiller addiction.

Just sayin'

6. I wonder if Repubs will try to scuttle the deal just so that McCain won't be embarassed.
Maybe they'll try to drag this out to the weekend because McCain wants to showboat.

15. It certainly does fit. I'll bet the House bill will bear little resemblance to the Bush proposal.
McCain was summoned to Washington to try to hammer through Bush's plan. He clearly indicated that in his statement.

12. I wonder what kind of "deal" they're close to striking...
Considering House Republicans hate Bush's plan so much. McCain is rushing back to Washington to shill for Bush's plan, considering they both serve the same corporate masters. Can you imagine if Bush was actually forced to veto the bailout? That would be hilarious.

Stenography isn't my forte...

They will be issuing a joint statement that they are making progress toward a resolution...

This whole brouhaha is difficult to understand; the economics and the politics...

I guess the bottom line is the Republicants don't want to be associated with a crash because they are perceived as the party of big business...

22. Dana Perino Said They Don't Need McInsane's Help
IMHO, I don't think Bush* gives a rip if McInsane loses...They never liked him anyway...They wanted Mittens...That's why Bush Pere came to Mittens' religion speech...Republicants have the same internecine rivalries that we do but they are better at giving the appearance of unity...

16. Get'er done and adjourn tomorrow
that would be a great image - McW walking into a dark and deserted Capitol on Friday and saying, "OK, I'm here, uh, where is everybody?" The janitor says, "They are all in Mississippi - something is supposed to be happening down there."

Edited on Wed Sep-24-08 06:30 PM by lib2DaBone
I hope Nancy Pe-lousy hasn't rolled over already. Something is up. There is some reason Bush HAS to get this bill by Friday. What is it? Has Bush already ordered the next 911 and he can't stop it.... he has to get the bill passed before the planes hit the building?
