Is anyone else worried about Bush's speech?

It might be just a rah-rah.

But it might be a series of presidential assertions - since Congress can't solve this - a declaration of martial law, suspension of posse comitatus - a financial takeover.

McCain's timing and Bush's sudden emergence - it stinks.

What's being said on the networks? Cable news? Even the right wing blogs?

"you say you want a revolution..."

10. I'll be ignoring it.
It'll just be his role being played out in the biggest mafia-style shakedown in world history, and my biggest hope is that since Dubya fucks up everything he touches, he'll screw this up as well and turn the country against this deplorable bail-out with no oversight whatsoever. For once, his extreme incompetence may actually help us.

12. I smell disarray. No, it's obviously NOT gonna be martial law. Just a sales pitch.
The bail out effort is collapsing on all fronts--in part because the bail out will protect the lending agencies, but NONE of the loan holders who they conned into taking flexible rate mortgages. People may not understand the nuances of the bail out financial plans, but they can sure smell elitist bullshit.

Bush is gonna try and rescue it with his address to the country. After all, he's got the clout, what with his approval rating coming all the way up to 30% again. Dude's on a roll.

fake apology, finger pointing, bluster, lie, fear, lie, call to the public to buck up and give him a trillion dollars to bail out his buddies who at a later date will buy back the mortgages at a huge discount and resume the screwing.
