McCain SCARED me today, Obama calmed me
I had been away from the TV and computer today and tuned in around 2:30, just in time for the McCain drama. Listening to him invoke 9/11 and using words like "crisis" and "suspending my campaign," I started to feel kind of panicky. I was seriously ready to go gas up my vehicles and take some money out of savings-"just in case."

I can't believe I almost succumbed to his Bush-like fear tactics. Thankfully, I held off on my survival errands until after I heard Obama speak. He calmed me considerably with his rational, "no drama" approach. Now I'm just pissed. McCain should be ashamed of himself. I thought his Palin-pick gimmick was low and wreaked of desperation but he stooped to a new low today. Shame on him and shame on me for being susceptible to this fear-mongering. God, I am tired of these drama queens.

1. I am going to vote for a president who can multi-task, esp when things aren't going so well.

His fear tactics didn't work in that regard. I'm just upset with myself for letting the old bastard scare me with his fucking theatrics.

3. I didn't think you were, was just adding on. I liked your OP.
He doesn't scare me any more about the financial situation than I already am, he scares me in that I don't trust him/them to pull some nasty shenanigans.

5. Thanks uppityperson.
I just read your sig line. I do think I'm going to take some security measures. If I've learned anything in these past 7 years it's that ANYTHING can happen. I just think it's so fucking low of McCain to play on our very real fears and to try to exacerbate them for political gain. I thought Obama showed real leadership today, by comparison.

4. I've finally figured it out. He's auditioning for Grandpa Simpson....

Grampa: "Death stalks you at every turn!"

Lisa: "Grampa!"

Grampa: "Well, it does. Aaah! Death! There it is. Death!"

Lisa: "It's only Maggie."

Grampa: " Oh, yeah. You know, at my age, the mind starts playing tricks. So, aaah! Death!"

Lisa: "That's only the cat."

Grampa: "Oh. Aah! Death!"

Lisa: "That's Maggie again, Grampa."

Grampa: "Oh. Where were we? Death!

10. He's trying to stir a "crisis" state of mind in hopes being the Grandpa figure
America runs to in a time of need. I fear he's making himself seem like a flip-flopping, frightened old coot instead?

13. I was asleep on the sofa
And woke up to a muted tv, with the words "BREAKING NEWS! McCain calls for Obama to suspend campaign."
I broke into a cold sweat on the spot.

Putting sound on made me start laughing though. Small adrenaline rush none the less. :)
