Help the dumb blonde girl, WHY is Bush inviting Obama to the WH? |
|
Edited on Wed Sep-24-08 07:55 PM by Clio the Leo
I'm at least smart enough to know that it's NOT because he's a nice guy who wants Barack to feel included. And I'm not optimistic enough to think it's some kind of concession thing.
Are they gonna tie him up and throw him in the nuclear bunker that's under the East Wing after which Bush will say, "I dunno, he just got up to get some more waffles and he never came back!"
What am I missing?

2. I think he is working with the mcPOW camp. |
|
They, chimpy and gramps, are trying to look like good guys trying to save the country through "bipartisanship". They made the offer, they had nothing to lose. If Obama declined, they could claim he didn't want to help the country. When he did accept, they can claim they are bringing the country together.
Obama just better take a long hot shower to clean that smell off after wards.

14. But how does that pull him off of his game.... |
|
.... it's taking the dude who's ahead in the polls and putting in the Rose Garden ...... or the Oval Office .... or wherever ..... thus making him look MORE presidential.
Will he let him sit at his desk too? "Try it out, see how the seat feels Baracko! Wanna beer?"
Yeah, I still dont get it.

Honestly, Obama doesn't lose anything by going, and (justified or not) would look potentially arrogant if he declined.

15. It's simple. Bush is helping McCain by changing the story on Obama |
|
Obama is ruling on the economic issue, so Bush wants to have a gladhand fest with Obama and McCain.
The story will be about unity and all that crap.
If I were Obama, I'd steer clear. The photo of McCain and Bush smiling this close to the Election will be PURE POLITICAL GOLD.

I can only understand this as an attempt to give the bailout a sense of bipartisan legitimacy. Bush is clearly beyond caring. It is my understanding that McCain will be attending this as well, no?

End result, Obama goes to Washington and they hope it reinforces the idea that McCain was right.
But going from the O-mans trackrecord it will end up looking like they two doofuses could not have done it without him. Him speaking next to Bush would be pure gold in terms of reminding people what a real president can look and sound like.

22. Bush will set the table this evening with his claim of how important it is to deal with the "crisis" |
|
Edited on Wed Sep-24-08 08:07 PM by Parker CA
and tomorrow, he will convene this group at the WH and press them on how vital it is go get things done ASAP. When the meeting is over, if Obama decides to go back to the debate and not put 100% of his attention into fixing this mess, he will be viewed has having his priorities in the wrong places. He will be labeled as making political decisions during a time when politics should be set aside. All of this is absolute bullshit, but this is a sequence of chess moves set into action by McLiar/Rove/Bush to attempt to trap Obama.
The issue Obama needs to press is that to come to a resolution in a mere 2 days would be hasty to say the least. He needs the congressional dems to support moving the bill forward but doing so with caution and attention to the details Obama has continued to outline in his speeches, his 5 points.
There is no way this bill should be passed this week. There is also no reason the bill cannot be moved forward while the debates go on. Obama needs to see that he has McLiar et al in check-mate even though the final move is still a dozen steps away.

or to distract him from campaigning, which he better not do. I think it is a ploy, McInsane is getting his ass kicked daily and the repigs have nothing they can do to stop Obama/Biden.
Watch, the numbers will continue to go up for Obama/Biden.

|
stating that Obama's judgement and experience clearlyshows itself by not attempting to come together and work in a bi-partisan fashion to solve the current economic problems. Bush knows mccain can't hold his own against Obama in the debates so, enter Rove, anybody seen karl lately?

* summons both McCain and Obama to the WH. Once there, Obama has to listen to a recital of "the way things are and the way things are gonna be". And Obama will be told to change his campaign and to lose on purpose. Or else. And they will frame it as though Obama has no choice because their decision will rule the day with or without Obama.
