McCain is proposing this Friday's debate be moved to Thursday to replace the VP debate
McCain supporter Sen. Lindsey Graham tells CNN the McCain campaign is proposing to the Presidential Debate Commission and the Obama camp that if there's no bailout deal by Friday, the first presidential debate should take the place of the VP debate, currently scheduled for next Thursday, October 2 in St. Louis.

3. Damned cowards
Surely everybody can see right through that one. They are scared shitless of having the country see any more of Palin. That interview with Couric was just plain bad. And that is without even having Biden in the room. It only gets worse when the cameras compare this superficial bimbo with Biden's depth.

10. Easy solution to that
Hold the VP debate this Friday, and move the Presidential Debate to next Thursday. No reason the VP candidates need to be in Washington, right?

11. NO...real people are depending on this debate at Ol Miss
From Huff..

<snip snip>

"Ironically enough, if John McCain goes through with his threat to skip the foreign policy debate scheduled for this Friday for the sake of prolonging and complicating the ongoing negotiations over the Paulson bailout package, it may end up creating another distressed asset -- the University of Mississippi's investment in Friday's face-off. Officials from Ole Miss told ABC News today that a cancellation would be "devastating" to the University -- and that a postponement might not be possible:

Andrew Mullins, special assistant to University Chancellor Robert Khayat, told ABC News that the Ole Miss campus has been transformed to accommodate the candidates and the press. Road blocks are in place on campus and in the community and the debate television set for the candidates has already been constructed. He said the university has spent roughly five and half million dollars getting ready for the debate.

Mullins also noted that if the Commission on Presidential Debates asks the campus to hold the debate at a later date, he is not sure the university would be able to accommodate them.

"It's huge. You cannot just say that you're not going to do this thing," Mullins said. "I don't have any idea whether we do the debate" at a later date. " probably wouldn't do it."

13. OMG, could they be any more transparent? LOL!
It's obvious that Ms. Mooseburger's not even ready for a real interview, much less a debate with a pro like Biden. And by asking for this, they are fucking ADMITTING it...

Pathetic!

NO. THE DEBATES WENT ON DURING THE CIVIL WAR, THE GREAT DEPRESSION AND WORLD WAR II!!! THOSE WERE FAR BIGGER PROBLEMS!

He's a chickenshit. A fuckwad. A COWARD. A yellow-bellied, lily-livered CRYBABY.

No. Debates are on Friday. Palin the Trainwreck still has to face Biden. ROFL! I have my Tivo set.

22. Mike Malloy made an interesting observation a little earlier
I think he was only half serious about this, but it actually makes sense.....

Who has been standing right next to Grandpa McCain on damn near every stop of his campaign tour, sometimes even whispering in his ear and correcting him when he said something really stupid?

Holy Joe doesn't work Friday nights.

Coincidence?

23. No way Obama is accepting this, the media better be all over this attempt to shield Palin tomorrow
If the media starts to cover McCain honestly then his gamble should seriously tank with headlines like "McCain still doing interviews before going to Washington", and "McCain tries to shield Palin by attempting to cancel the VP debate and move the first presidential debate there".
