Do you think Dems will cave on this bailout because of this election? |
|
Edited on Thu Sep-25-08 12:28 AM by babylonsister
I thought Dodd sounded strong tonight, as did Tweety on Maddow surprisingly.
But then there's that pre-election time out Congress is supposed to have to work on campaigns.
I do hope they realize what's important.
And yes, I know, it's all important, but what are Americans watching, local or national elections? Or both?

3. No. Dems (SOME Dems) will cave because big money is talking loudly in their ears. |
|
Too loudly for them to hear the angry mob at their gates.
We have a lot of housecleaning to do.

Its been the MO so far. It is awfully hard to win anything when the leadership wants to play the other guys game.

China asks local lenders not to lend to U.S. banks:report By V. Phani Kumar Last update: 10:28 p.m. EDT Sept. 24, 2008 Comments: 63 HONG KONG (MarketWatch) -- Chinese regulators have asked domestic banks to stop lending to U.S. financial institutions in the interbank money markets to prevent possible losses during the financial crisis, the South China Morning Post reported Thursday. The China Banking Regulatory Commission's ban on interbank lending of all currencies applied to U.S. banks, but not to lenders from other countries, the report added, citing a source. End of Story
Russia is having to shore up it's banks. There was a run on a Hong Kong bank last night and tonight Washington Mutual was downgraded to junk status. I hope they wring a ton of concessions when they do pass it. Then the dollar will drop and prices will rise.

places. I read about China. So what's the option of just stopping-everything? Like money going to causes Americans don't want and being redirected elsewhere, like America? Retorial, I know, but it's a question that I would love to be answered.

what needs to be done to fix it. I only understand a little of it. I do know that confidence is paramount in the markets and also between banks re solvency. If that goes then panic ensues. I don't even think it matters when it comes to the market if the confidence is warranted or not. I just don't know.

18. Arrest those responsible, |
|
confiscate their assets and return them to the people, put them on trial and make public all of their crimes, then transfer them to a facility for medical experiments.

The only and last thing we have going for us as a country, is that we grow more food then anyone else in the world. If we don't get with it on renewable energy soon, even that will be gone. It is as important as winning the election, that Obama moves us to the energy future and in a big hurry.

China is now dissing us; makes me wonder if that too was planned.
Renewable energy sounds great, and I agree.

15. Don't worry. The Bush Syndicate probably has a nice line of credit |
|
the Bin Laden's and the rest of our "friends" in Saudi Arabia. If we're lucky they might lock us into a purchasing schedule for their oil in return that prevents us from exploring renewable energy for quite some time.

giving in to McBush's demands.
But given their track record, I'm not holding my breath until they all come out and do what they're going to do.
