THE MCCAIN CAMPAIGN HAS WON!!!
Bear with me, I know this sounds like complete, utter madness.

I know I've been making a total nuisance of myself all over the place talking about this but even I wasn't expecting this.

Let me say this one last time and I'll try to shut up about it.

THEY WANT TO LOSE THIS ELECTION.

They have won beyond their wildest dreams. They won the moment the airplanes were hijacked.

Everything, absolutely everything since then has been gravy.

They got to do everything they wanted a hundred times over. They've looted everything, broken everything, stolen everthing. I won't even bother listing it all. You know what it is.

Everything is gone. The mortgage crisis was the last thing. 700 billions dollars will be looted and given to the Chinese who have successfully declared economic warfare on the United States.

Now they want to lose this election so the Democratic Party, like it always does every time this happens, slowly puts the pieces back together, fixes the infrastructure (hiring Republican contractors), rebuilds the economy and puts America back on its feet. The moment a dime is spent on a social program, the moment there's a spare nickel to steal, the Republican party will be on the war path, literally the warpath to do it all over again.

There is no need for a McCain campaign so he might as well stop right now. There is no need for a debate, so why bother.

They can put their feet up, smoke their Cuban cigars, eat their fancy French cuisine and watch the fun.

6. I do have to agree
and even registered with this website because of this opinion. He wants to lose and was freaking out because the polls showed him 50/50. they want a democrat to be in charge when the shit hits the fan so they can blame us. This is my gut instinct

20. Eh, the shit has been hitting the fan for some time now
Bush, and the Republican party aren't exactly popular right now. And good times or bad for the rest of the nation, the Presidency is a sweet plum for everyone connected to the winner, and a powerful means to continue to control the agenda and the purse strings. McCain isn't trying to lose - what you're seeing is this:

McCain, after almost being eliminated right from the start won his primary by *the entire field* flaming out early. Meanwhile Obama launched a dark horse candidacy, and solidly defeated the most powerful machine in contemporary politics. McCain's missteps aren't some double-sekrit plan - he's just a seriously flawed candidate who is only where he is by being slightly less hapless than the likes of Giuliani, running against an adept and battle-tested opponent.

You're right about the blame though. That's headed our way for sure - look what happened to Carter when he inherited the post-Vietnam economy. But we gotta fix their mess sometime - it's not going to be any less messy after another 4 years of Republican misrule.

Dubya's screaming "Recession", Palin's screaming "Great Depression"

14. I've wondered the same. I saw Bill Clinton on something...
recently, and he was asked the same thing (seems it was a comedian): Why would anyone want to be president now?

His answer made a lot of sense. We must remember, these individuals are a different breed altogether. Most of us can't conceive of how they think and the commitment it takes to rise to the levels they have risen (leaving W and his ilk out of the mix).

Clinton said it's precisely because of the dire straits this country is in that it is a great CHALLENGE to get one's country back on track. He sees it as a golden opportunity, a most patriotic opportunity, to serve one's country when it's in the shitter. Obviously, my words, not his. LOL

:)

13. THANK YOU!!
The name of the Republican Party needs to be so tarnished, so hated that they never get a single vote, ever.

Yes, the spectre of conservatism/authoritarianism will never be killed, but will rise again under another name, but in the meantime, this band of criminals needs to be caught and punished before they bolt for Paraguay.

21. Yes, we need an informed citizenry, with a free press....
to hold ALL politicians, corporations, etc., ACCOUNTABLE, so this doesn't ever happen again.

I hope Obama will turn back the clock and restore the abuses of the Constitution by this cabal, get back to our system of checks and balances.

Maybe I'm tired and delusional, but it seems that, with Palin's pick, that was the straw that broke the camel's back and the press and the people are waking up. Granted, 25% or so will never wake up...they'll stay in a fog until the Rapture...but the rest are waking up and seeing how much they have raped this country and its people, not to mention Iraq, etc.

24. Not necessarily... it could also be the start of a 20 year Democratic majority
All Democratic candidates during the primary knew they would have to put on their big boy/girl panties on for this one. If we can step up to the plate, we can get the political consensus in to make the changes we need for the average person in this country.

I am optimistic. Crisis gives the opportunity to create and re-establish new fundamentals that will be in place for many years. We've chosen the right people to do it. Obama's abilities as a community organizer will be necessary to gain the people power needed to get Congress in line to make the changes. He's going to be backed up by Biden.

no way

His "suspension" is a tactic and a gimmick.
