Bailout crisis indeeed, Campaign Supension a Palin Bailout.
Edited on Thu Sep-25-08 02:40 AM by Boz
After she has performed so terribly on Couric and Gibson, they realized there is no way in hell she can handle even a softball debate.

So McCain did the only thing he could, try to cancel this fridays debate and have it moved to the VP debate and then reschedule the VP debate for a later time, which would either mean it never occurs or it happens too late for it to make any difference.

First they make the unprecedented effort to protect her using a massively constrained "debate" format which equates to not much moe than a softball interview then they realize she cant even do softball interviews, and thats even with editing, let alone a live audience, so now you have this.

McCain supporter Sen. Lindsey Graham tells CNN the McCain campaign is proposing to the Presidential Debate Commission and the Obama camp that if there's no bailout deal by Friday, the first presidential debate should take the place of the VP debate, currently scheduled for next Thursday, October 2 in St. Louis.

In this scenario, the vice presidential debate between Joe Biden and Sarah Palin would be rescheduled for a date yet to be determined

McCain handling bailout crisis indeed, only its not the economy, its Palins bailout.

1. tonight on Colbert....
...he interviewed someone (I forget who it was) and naturally they were talking about the economy. Colbert asked what could McCain do about the situation if he goes to DC as planned. The guy said the only thing he can really do is vote. And it certainly doesn't take 2 days to vote!!

2. He's not on any of the committees dealing with the situation
So (fortunately) he's not in the loop- which, considering his record and his ignorance, is all our good fortune.

4. That's how I see it
Palin is not doing very well and they had to stop the debate.

5. I think you are right
This is it first and foremost. She just can't stand up to Biden in a debate. And Lindsay Graham being behind the suggestion of this swap proves there is a flimflam afoot.

Everybody knows the VP debate is crucial this year.

6. No doubt in my mind his first viewing of the Couric interview made him
sick to his stomach. He knew it was over and in a state of panic he made this desperate move.

7. Yes.
If she can't even handle an interview with friggin Katie Couric without looking like a fool, there's just no way she is ready to debate Biden!
