Summarize the Monkey's "performance" last night... he's getting panned
on "Morning Joe"... someone said it looked like a hostage tape. What about last night was different or worse than every other cue-card reading by America's Worst President Ever?

1. He's always been a sack of shit . . .
But now people are ever-more comfortable acknowledging it. Also, the lame duck syndrome is kicking in big time.

3. I bet there's a 20 million dollar speaking tour in it for him
Watch, if ANYONE pays to hear that infantile shit for brains maul the english language for an audience - it's payback for political favors.

5. I must disagree... I believe that without the power of the
presidency behind him, he will be universally rejected as a pariah, who almost destroyed his own political party, hated by the rest.

7. It's not about them liking/respecting him
It's just one of the ways that our politicians are bribed.

18. He doesn't care. "History? We'll all be dead."
George W. Bush, when asked by Bob Woodward "how is history likely to judge your Iraq war?" replied, "History, we don't know. We'll all be dead." (Woodward Shares War Secrets, CBS News, 60 Minutes, April 18, 2004).

4. I thought he was ice cold, talking to his rich cronies, not the American people.
He lost his drawl, used big words, and talked real fast. These were no words of comfort, no "dead or alive". He blamed us, not one word about deregulation.

The "hostage tape" comment really summed it up for me. We're the hostage. Congress pays his cronies or off with our heads.

9. I watched a little last night (husband turned it on)
and my first thought was "He obviously hates all of us." He takes absolutely no joy in being a part of the American experience. He is a clueless scold. The parts I saw were just mean (as in small of soul).

After seeing John McDildo in action George Bush* looks like Winston Churchill...If you took Bush* out of a presidential setting I think he would be a half decent guy...

11. * seems disconnected from his own presidency
as though somehow he isn't potentially the most powerful man in the world but a passive victim of circumstance who hasn't been doing (or able to do) anything for the last 8 years.

12. I thought he read abnormally well
which to me means they tweaked his meds again. I'm thinking speed or cocaine, since his nose whistled and he sounded like he was gripping the lectern outside the camera's field - that weird noise we heard was a lot like sweaty hands on lacquered wood.

13. He read the big words off the teleprompter reasonably...acceptable.
I was wondering why he gave the speech from the East Room instead of the Oval Office. Was it supposed to make him look Presidential or something?

24. It's the "financial 9/11".
Both this crisis and the original 9/11 were set up to terrorize the taxpayer into handing over a blank check.

30. True. You could just picture Paulson behind him with a gun in his back..
give us the money or everybody gets it!

This is actually the first shrub speech I've ever watched in it's entirety, and I actually enjoyed it. I enjoyed watching him up there trying to squirm his way out of this.
