Six weeks till election, down by 10 points.....
.....what do you do? Enter Karl Rove. The GOP is in trouble....big trouble. This financial crisis could not have come at a worse time for them. Throw everything out the window, this calls for unprecedented actions. A loss to democrats is unacceptable and they must do whatever is necessary to keep it from happening. But how? They can't pin this financial crisis on dems, though that would be the best thing, so what would be the second best thing? My guess? Eliminate the competition!

God forbid anything should happen to Obama (remember the rednecks in Colorado?) What would be the implications of an Obama assassination? Riots, chaos, a shut-down of the business world for days, maybe weeks. The only solution? MArtial law! A postponement of elections, and ultimately the pinning of the assassination on a terrorist organization showing the Bush Doctrine was the correct course of action, thus exonerating the GOP for the invasion of Iraq, the Patriot Act, and showing that Bush was the right leader at the right time!

Could it happen in today's world? Is anything unthinkable for these bastards? Remember, all those people in the Twin Towers were killed before an air force plane left the ground.

I hate thinking about shit like this, but I know how dastardly these people are.

I wish we could wake up and realize this has all been a bad dream.

What can we do?

Hope, I guess. And pray.

2. I'll put my tinfoil hat on and say
That the neocon plan is to lose this election. They've benefited enormously in the past 8 years. In fact the past eight years have constituted the fastest and most complete reversal of fortune in this nation's history. Period.

They will get their bailout, make no mistake about it. 700 fucking billion dollars - they will pocket every single penny of it.

And then the plan is leave Obama clear the mess. They will blame him and the democrats in Congress for failing to clean their shit and will run another muppet neocon in 2008 or 2012. Given the attention span of the average voter, it will be no surprise if they win in 2008... Sad but true.

6. Not hardly
Winning this election is definitely the best thing that could happen, right now. I expect it, you expect it, we all do. That's my cause for worry. I'm not one to wear a tin-foil hat, normally. I was just pondering what they could do to pull themselves outta this mess their in (GOP).

5. Anyone else notice that in 6 days a Combat Brigade will be deployed for Domestic Ops for the1st time
EVER.

From the Army Times

The 3rd Infantry Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team has spent 35 of the last 60 months in Iraq patrolling in full battle rattle, helping restore essential services and escorting supply convoys.

Now they’re training for the same mission — with a twist — at home.

Beginning Oct. 1 for 12 months, the 1st BCT will be under the day-to-day control of U.S. Army North, the Army service component of Northern Command, as an on-call federal response force for natural or manmade emergencies and disasters, including terrorist attacks (and civil unrest).

.........

The 1st BCT’s soldiers also will learn how to use “the first ever nonlethal package that the Army has fielded,” 1st BCT commander Col. Roger Cloutier said, referring to crowd and traffic control equipment and nonlethal weapons designed to subdue unruly or dangerous individuals without killing them.

“It’s a new modular package of nonlethal capabilities that they’re fielding. They’ve been using pieces of it in Iraq, but this is the first time that these modules were consolidated and this package fielded, and because of this mission we’re undertaking we were the first to get it.”

The package includes equipment to stand up a hasty road block; spike strips for slowing, stopping or controlling traffic; shields and batons;

.............

“I don’t know what America’s overall plan is — I just know that 24 hours a day, seven days a week, there are soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines that are standing by to come and help if they’re called,” Cloutier said. “It makes me feel good as an American to know that my country has dedicated a force to come in and help the people at home.”

7. This is the question you should be asking, WHY A COMBAT BRIGADE on US SOIL for COMBAT USE
Edited on Thu Sep-25-08 07:18 AM by Boz
Why isnt the COMBAT brigade "patrolling in full battle rattle" going to the war zone and bring back the NON COMBAT civil National Guard.

UNLESS COMBAT IS THE KEY FOCUS.
