Of course, too much of the public is stupid.

But such blatant hypocrisy and lying is hard to excuse.

8. Yeah, on the radio this morning...

..there was some totally substance free, innocuous morning zoo type show on today and they mentioned this, but then went into the "Well Letterman is more of an entertainment show and Couric is a news show where he could discuss the actual issues rather than just joking around."

It's not exactly a partisan group or a political show, but that would be fairly indicative of what I would imagine the non political person would deduct from this.
