Are you starting to get the feeling that Palin has "buyers remorse?" |
|
I surely don't mean to defend this inferior intellectual, but in all fairness I think she may have been sold a bill of goods. She was presented with a proposal that appeared "too good to be true" and we all know how that one goes. It's like interviewing for a salaried position that's about $45K above your normal and standard pay grade. You figure you will either learn it quick or with your talent, can bluff it. What's so difficult?
Her egomaniacal self did not blink, and I believe that. This was just another gift from Gawd, speeded along by those glorious "laying of hands" by that weird reverend friend of hers. She would be able to shine, be on all the TeeVee shows illustrating her brilliance and building up the old guy. That would be her job, nothing to it. They told her "Yes, Sarah" we will give you a crash course, you will meet with various foreign leaders and become respected in the eyes of the world."
But alas, this was not to be. They won't let her talk to her public, they put her on these shows and ask her to answer questions she is not prepared for. Creepy old men, including McLame are leering at her, she's described as an "aphrodisiac" by one you can hardly understand. PhotoOps are all that is allowed. "I'm a Governor, fergodssake!" Nah, this is starting to become a drag, and that troopergate thing just won't go away. McLame's people are running my office and I'm on the cover of a tabloid, not in a good way. Why not the NY Times?
I don't think the woman is that dumb not to realize she is being used. As other posters have said before me, she does not look enthused or happy anymore. She was sold a bill of goods that flopped. The cold north is starting to look much better, at least there she was the "boss."

1. When do we ever get a chance to look at her to tell if she's |
|
uncomfortable? I think she's too dumb to realize she's in over her head. Plus, being a religious nut, she probably thinks that God will make her ready and that this is what happens to all leaders, God makes them ready even when they're not.

Her mad dash for the WH has seriously alienated her fellow Alaskans who now appear to have buyer's remorse. Her poll numbers there are falling. Doubtful she'll be reelected. I think she's starting to realize how seriously screwed she is. Tough luck Saracuda. I'll be happy when I don't have to look at her puss anymore.

4. You said this very well. |
|
I think she did get carried away and her ego didn't allow her to apply the brakes.
I don't feel any empathy for her. It was her narcissism and lack of being centered and grounded that put her in this situation.

She will not be the next VP and she will loose her Governorship in no time. Her political career is over. Sarah Palin will be working for some "think-tank", because she will not be able to find employment elsewhere. America finally saw who she is and America does not like her. The End.

8. Gaaawwwwwwd works in mysterious ways. |
|
Using, being used--that's the way the world works for someone like Sarah. I'm sure it all feels quite natural to her; she's just been launched into the Big Leagues. People like her (and GWB, for that matter) have no concept of any other way of coping than "fakin' it." Because they have never known anything else, they assume that's the way everyone does it. Image is everything; everyone is a beauty queen. They really have no comprehension of underlying realities; they cannot possibly understand or even imagine the integrity and deep competence of someone like Obama.

11. She looked ready to vomit under Couric's questioning |
|
Palin is used to being a big fish, and naivite led her to assume that was her destiny in whatever sized pond she found herself. She appeared queasily disillusioned yesterday as reality, in the form of Couric's grilling, intruded on the delusion.
Life cannot be good for Palin these days. In her world, not only the public, but God Himself, is forsaking her.

16. This is part of her 'Wheeeeee! This sounds like fun!' mentality. |
|
Everything is a game to her, but this game is suddenly not fun when she is not winning, not the star, not at the top. She is very uncomfortable with her discomfort. It's bad, but I'm sure it's been an eye-opener to what politics and the media are like outside of Alaska.

17. All in all this election ruined her career. |
|
Troopergate would never have gotten this much noise or noise at all if McCain didn't choose her, or she didn't say yes. Now she's in a bind and caught lieing and there's enough evidence to get a conviction due to probable cause.
Her entire family drama from her daughter to a possible affair is all over the news and people in the nation are peering into her life and basically ripping her to shreds.
Her interviews peg her for more of a fool than most thought she was. She knows nothing about McCain the campaign manager or what is going on and she has no knowledge of his career background besides him being a "reformer" and "maverick"---give an example...nada.
Lastly, she has lost the entire support of Alaska and all the dirt and secrets of what she's done is coming out, this is related to troopergate, the aerial hunting, bridge to no where, and of course who can forget the Wasilla debt and rape kits.
She will never be in politics again after this...unless it's the PTA.

She thought it was going to be easy. She was used to being fawned over in AK, and I guess the rest of the world was the same - sorry...
The very first question on the Couric interview - the very long pause - she looked terrified. Katie looked so smug with ice cold eyes - I love her now!

by talking to reporters. They DEFINITELY have something to hide when it comes to Palin. She is used to being able to charm her way to the top and pesky reporters asking nosey questions about her political beliefs is too much for her to handle. If she were to get the VP job, she would be hauled out for photo-ops and spend the rest of the time with her family.
All she brings to McPanic's ticket is lipstick. That is it. She's basically, lipstick, gams and nothing else.
