Obama is now ahead in North Carolina in latest Rasmussen Poll
I just got this email. -WB

Takes Lead in North Carolina Barack Obama has a two-point advantage over John McCain in the traditionally Republican state of North Carolina. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the Tar Heel State shows Obama attracting 49% of the vote while McCain earns 47%. A week ago, McCain held a three-pointedge. This is the first time in eight Rasmussen Reports polls that Obama has heldany kind of a lead in North Carolina, though the candidates were tied once as well.

1. I know it's just one poll
but it's sure nice to see the polls as a group start to move in the correct direction. No wonder McBush and Palcheney decided they have to try to change the topic a little bit.

4. No way

There is no way in hell NC will go Obama...but the fact it may be close is a good enough sign.

17. where it's real use lies is that it stretches McCain out
He's going to be forced to advertise there just to try to hold serve. He's going to pick up no Kerry states from 4 years ago, he's going to lose Iowa and New Mexico, any other state will give the presidency to Obama. He needs to somehow get Colorado back, which went solidly Blue this week, and he's fighting for dear life in Ohio, Florida, Virginia and North Caroline.

14. it's probably a bit of an outlier
But just the idea that McCain will have to focus resources there is important. It also trends well for Kay Hagan, she can beat Dole.

Edited on Thu Sep-25-08 01:45 PM by adoraz
that we had absolutely NO chance of winning NC!

We WILL win here!! Glad our efforts aren't going to waste.

19. it looked bad a few weeks ago
one of the polls that came out had McCain up by 17 and then another one had him up by 20. Those could have been outliers, but I would say McCain had a lead up around 10 points around that time. Then the convention bounce faded and the new crisis hit. This one here could be looked at as a bit of an outlier, but a few other recent polls have it close either way. I think McCain probably has a few point edge factoring in history and maybe a possible Bradley effect. All in all it's close.
