Will the low info voters ever wake up?
I mean with the economy going in the tank and the other serious problems we face or do they not just care?

1. They just don't care, really
they will watch Survivor and vote along party lines, on both sides.

2. Do you mean the low-info Republican base or the low-info swing voters?
The low-info swing voters are coming over to us. The low-info Repuke base will never change.

3. (shrug) They might go bankrupt. They might not be able to send their kids to college...
They might have their daughters get pregnant at 14. They might....

But they'll be DAMNED if they're gonna vote for a black man for President.

It's just a matter of priorities.

8. my in-laws are like that
I swear they would rather lose everything and be homeless than have a black man be president who does the right thing. They don't vote thank god.

5. I think there's a reason they're low-info.
The world scares them so much that they stuck their heads in the sand years ago, so they keep their information-processing channels filed with sports, NASCAR, celebrity gossip, etc. They're looking for certainty in an insecure world, and find it in their flat-earth little churches. It's a lot safer-feeling to be all outraged about gays & abortion than it is to actually have to think about the economy, the war, or your own health insurance and retirement.

6. Maybe a few but mostly, no.
Some people are low information voters because they're just plain stupid. Some just aren't tuned into politics and eventually wake up. Not as much as I'd like, of course, but yeah...

7. No. Not as long as there is something else on TV.
They are uncaring and uninformed. (And sadly, that's often by choice.)

10. Perfect example of this. I have been sending emails to everyone
I know about what's going on. I especially wanted my nephew and niece, who are in their 30's and got one of those interest only loans on a house they couldn't afford which has lost $120,000 of it's value, to be up on what's going on in the financial world. I must have sent 16 emails on the bailout of Wall Street alone. I called him yesterday and said "I hope you're not spending money on stuff you don't need". I mentioned the bailout and he said "I don't know what you're talking about". Made my stomach turn. Neither one of them read the paper or watch ANY news on TV so, even though they are educated, the are truly ignorant. I give up.
