McCain Camp: Palin campaign suspended - "She will remain in contact with John McCain"

http://community.post-gazette.com/blogs/earlyreturns/archive/2008/09/25/mccain-camp-never-mind-palin-philly-visit.aspx

As they do for every campaign appearance, the McCain camp put out a thorough news release this morning listing when reporters and cameras should show up for Sarah Palin's afternoon arrival at a private Philadelphia airport on Straight Talk Air II. Palin in Media, Pa/Inquirer

But wasn't the campaign suspended? The camp's Paul Lindsay just put out another memo to the press:

"Governor Palin will have no scheduled campaign events in the Philadelphia area until the economic crisis is solved. She will remain in contact with John McCain as he works with Sen. Obama and members of both parties to achieve consensus on legislation to stabilize our financial markets."

Other than talking to McCain on her cell, it's not clear exactly what Palin will be doing: the campaign is trying to postpone her one and only debate on Thursday, and she's not supposed to be fundraising either.

4. So if there is one single crisis, both McCain and Palin are unable to
deal with anything else, huh? It takes two of them to handle one thing. God forbid two things might occur at the same time.

They look so desperate.

9. See David Lettermans monologue last night
To the effect of : if mcbush has to go back to DC to work on the crisis, that's what the VP pick is for - to campaign in his place. And since she'd not a senator, she doesn't have to go back to DC. So instead of "suspending" his campaign, he shoud have had her step in.

Or in the words of Craig Fergason "Suspend the campaing??!!!??? We don't do that in America!!!"

5. Wow. There are no words to express the level of incompetence in McCain-Palin world.
Picking Palin might go down as one of the biggest blunders ever in U.S. political history.

7. Isn't the VP supposed to be ready to step in if the President is not able to?
It is bad enough that McCain can't handle two or more things at the same time. But that Palin isn't able to do anything by herself??? Shouldn't she go out and stomp for herself and McCain?

How re-assuring is that?

She is filling her head with every foreign-named leader and practicing their pronunciation until her tongue falls off.

This is totally preposterous, but the MSM has to maintain this fiction of political balance, and so the rest of the public that isn't paying attention doesn't understand how insane and bizarre it is to have a VP whose campaign refuses to let her do anything at all.
