If McCain refuses to show up at the debate |
|
I think it would be a great idea if the Obama campaign bought some network television time during the debate window, with live shots of empty congressional chambers and meeting rooms. These could be shown as small picture-in-picture images while Obama speaks about the economy, and maybe foreign policy (since that's what the debate was supposed to be about). It would also be helpful if he could let the American people know exactly where John McCain was at that particular moment (i.e., not on Capitol Hill, not in Mississippi, but rather, at a cocktail party or fundraiser or asleep in his house). I think Obama's savvy media people could craft a very effective appearance around this, showing that McCain is hiding (or partying in Georgetown or whatever) while Obama is ready to deal with this economic crisis while simultaneously ready to debate, campaign, etc.

1. Ooooh - that's tempting -- like Letterman showing live shots of McCain in |
|
the make up chair getting ready to go on TV instead of "rushing to the airport" as he'd told Letterman.
Won't happen, but nice fantasy! :headbang:
