Nice 1-2 play by McPalin.
It all depends on how the media plays it. If Bush appears to have been helping-out McCain then it won't look good for McCain.
Further, it'd be damaging for McCain if the media were to point out that McCain's sense of urgency seems to be about as finely tuned as that of George W Bush's. McCain announced on Wednesday that the nation was in crisis and that he was suspending his campaign to rush back to Washington to help hammer-out an agreement, yet he didn't fly back for another 24 hours -- opting, instead, to meet with Lady Lynn Forrester de Rothschild, sit for an interview with Katie Couric, and then speak to the Clinton Global Initiative.
It reminds me of another guy who sat around reading
My Pet Goat after he'd been told that the nation was under attack.
Let's call this
"McCain's My Pet Goat Moment." Whether there's as big a crisis as McCain believes or is saying, McCain has declared it as a crisis and he has shown us how he responds to the country being on the precipice of another Great Depression.
