Solving the stolen yard sign problem (one pic)
We have a lot of road frontage to our property. Last night, someone stole all of our Obama/Biden yard signs. Today, I went into town and bought some rally signs. Here they are up on the trees. The pic only shows a few, but we posted 20 of them:

1. I saw this last weekend, too
Someone had nailed the plastic part of their Obama sign to a tree. I thought then that they'd had theirs stolen once too often and had come up with a good alternative plan.

Your property is beautiful, btw. Love the signs!

5. Thanks Neecy
:hi: We'll see how long this lasts. My husband used a ladder to get up that high. I guess one could stand on another's shoulders to do it, if they wanted to tear them down . It's heavy Republican here (north central PA).

2. Great solution! Does anyone know if there are people
stealing McCain campaign signs too? Is this only a republican tactic?

It was on public property. I also took out an Inhofe sign, also on public property.

6. A neighbor down the road still has her McCain sign standing
so at least in my little corner of the universe, someone was bent on stealing Obama signs.

3. Great idea
It's so childish to steal signs. Sure, when I passed the "Women For McCain" sign yesterday while I was taking a walk, I rolled my eyes and thought of snotty remarks...but I would never take someone's property. It's just so unnecessary and wrong.

9. I wouldn't do it either (but I have thought of it)
:-). Our house sits back from the road about 500', so we never heard anyone down there last night.

7. Thanks! Someone was asking me at an Obama
meeting what the suggestions were on DU to avoid getting their sign stolen.

11. The woman who volunteers at the Dem. campaign office
had her garage egged last night. She had rally signs up on the garage doors. I just started volunteering down at the office this week and I've heard some sad stories of what is happening to Obama supporters homes. This area is so redneck....

19. My husband took a ladder down to the road
We have an extension ladder too, but that might put the signs too high and out of view .

14. Me too. I figured I would do it right away.
Town is a 20 mile drive to get these rally signs, but I had to do it. Even though I was just down there yesterday volunteering at the Dem. campaign office.

18. Oh....I did think of that
What the picture doesn't show is I have a neighbor across the road who live there/have a gift shop. They didn't see the yard sign stealers, but I think they might notice a chainsaw user :-).

We live in an area that gets a lot of weekend visitors (cabins and parks). I definitely wanted to have something posted by tomorrow.
