Boxer is bringing up Keating 5 on MSNBC!!! |
|
She is on fire...saying that this isn't time for a candidate to crawl up with their blanket! And then mentioned Keating 5, and said that it's part of why McCain wants to change the subject.

4. Oh yeah, she went there! |
|
Boxer said that McCain would rather discuss whether or not to have a debate than for the media to remember his role in the Keating 5.

7. After McSame's first bailout, with the Keating 5, no wonder he is anxious, |
|
Democrats should say.
But the deregulation he pushed then was bad for America, and the Deregulation he and his main financial adviser Phil Gramm have pushed for years since then has also failed so another bailout is needed--
so I want Johnny ON THE RECORD SUPPORTING A BAILOUT. You broke it, you can't pretend you oppose a bailout. Your darling Chief Financial Adviser knew one would be needed eventually, and you followed his lead in pushing for deregulation.
So don't you try being a No Bailout Reformer. No way !!

McCain's "stunt" of suspending his campaign shows that he's under major stress. Then she did the 'time out' hand motion and said "You can't just say time out...this is a time more than ever when we need to see how the candidates respond to stressful situations." She said that no one was going to act like they are "swooping in" to save the day. Norah asked if she saw the suspending of the campaign as a stunt, and Boxer said "Yes! He's trying to change the subject! And I'll tell you why! (pointed a finger in the air) John McCain has been at the CENTER of deregulation...starting with the Keating 5!" Then went on to talk about Keating 5 a bit. I was cheering. And again, she said that it wasn't time for a candidate to crawl into the corner with their blanket, when talking about how this shows McCain is freaking out.
