The Marist poll shows why Obama is going to win ... 5 point lead and more excitement ...

Yes, the 5 point lead is nice, but I especially like the fact that 66% of Obama supporters said they were excited about their candidate, while only 51% of McCain supporters said they were.

It's an old saying, but excitement is contagious. Many of those excited Obama supporters will sit down with their undecided friends and relatives between now and November and explain what it is about Obama that has them excited. Plus, these excited voters will turn out in greater numbers in spite of bad weather or long lines at the polling stations. Some of the 45% of McCain supporters who say they aren't excited about their candidate won't even bother.
