Mike Pence (R) on MSNBC: THERE IS NO DEAL ! States that
Edited on Thu Sep-25-08 02:22 PM by K Gardner
the announcement that was broadcast was.. premature. States that there are MORE than enough votes to block the bill.

WTF is going on in D.C. ?

This is starting to look like an elaborate Republican/Bush Admin ploy and kabuki theatre to try to save McCain's bid for the Presidency.

4. Boehner is saying the same thing...
...I just read something a few minutes ago in which he essentially said "Maybe the Democrats have agreed on a deal, but we haven't."

8. I'm losing track of what side anyone is on. Didn't Barney Frank and Dodd just announce they HAD
a deal?

Are the Dems for this or against it? Is everything being scripted to make McCain look like a hero?

Why doesn't anyone call them on this bullshit?!

Grrr !!

13. Here's the quote, from Raw Story:
Still, the top Republican in the House, Minority Leader John Boehner, denied that a deal had been clinched.

"There is no bipartisan deal at this time. There may be a deal among some Democrats, but House Republicans are not a part of it," he told reporters.

5. McCain will ride in and save the day.
The Repubs don't want an agreement before McCain shows up. Seems word has gone out to stop saying that there is a deal. The 4 pm meeting should be interesting.

6. Seems the beauty of it is ...
... since reports were that it was pretty much a deal - until McCain showed up - it seems he's causing trouble rather than helping and leading. My take, anyway.

9. Really? It seems to me as if they're trying to trash McCain.
He did swoop into Washington to push this bill through, after all. His own party is now saying, "fuck that".

I guess that McCain could suddenly help them "see the light", but I doubt it. Their constituents hate this and they're more interested in saving their own asses.

12. They are stalling for McCoward so that he can avoid the debate tomorrow.
This is nothing but a political ploy. I hope that the M$M will call them out on it but I won't hold my breath. :puke::puke:

17. The truth is in the "Dow 11,084.59 +259.42 (2.40%)"
Remember they are keeping their head above water and the fishing-bob floats at the same level of about 11,000. If it goes below, something is up

19. Oh, there is no question that McCain's antics were harmful to negotiations.
Republicans now have to resist any progress or finalization until such time as McCain has gotten involved. The only question is how the media will portray it.

21. The republicans work directly (without waver) for enhancing corporations welfare
Quite similarly M$M does the exact same thing. The people are at the top of that M$M pyramid have picked and trained everyone working in it that is how they will keep their jobs. So really, do you need to ask that question or are you just missing some background information on how all that works?

22. It remains to be seen how McCain's antics are portrayed.
Currently, I'm hearing it framed both ways, as a stunt and as "leadership", but it could go either way, still.
