Palin Talks Russia With Katie Couric (VIDEO)

CLIP HERE: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/09/25/palin-talks-russia-with-k_n_129318.html

COURIC: You've cited Alaska's proximity to Russia as part of your foreign policy experience. What did you mean by that?

PALIN: That Alaska has a very narrow maritime border between a foreign country, Russia, and on our other side, the land-- boundary that we have with-- Canada. It-- it's funny that a comment like that was-- kind of made to-- cari-- I don't know, you know? Reporters--

COURIC: Mock?

PALIN: Yeah, mocked, I guess that's the word, yeah.

COURIC: Explain to me why that enhances your foreign policy credentials.

PALIN: Well, it certainly does because our-- our next door neighbors are foreign countries. They're in the state that I am the executive of. And there in Russia--

COURIC: Have you ever been involved with any negotiations, for example, with the Russians?

PALIN: We have trade missions back and forth. We-- we do-- it's very important when you consider even national security issues with Russia as Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where-- where do they go? It's Alaska. It's just right over the border. It is-- from Alaska that we send those out to make sure that an eye is being kept on this very powerful nation, Russia, because they are right there. They are right next to-- to our state.

2. Characterize
She didn't know how to say the word "characterize" or "portray" or event "paint".

This part two is just. going. to. ruin. her.

11. Or perhaps... "caricature"
Whichever word she was looking for, it was beyond her grasp. Such an intellectual lightweight; we're doomed to "worse than Bush" if McCain wins.

I've already see her be, but she does!!!! And that bitchy, catty, "why do I have to explain this, are you stupid or something, Katie?" tone is really telling if you ask me.
:banghead: She really makes my head hurt.

on edit: emoticon issues.

9. ?
What the fuck is she talking about? Trade missions? Does Alaska have them or not? Or is she talking about the AF patrolling air space?

She's starting to make Bush sound articulate.

10. OUCH - painful to watch. That debate could be some real entertainment.
Too bad Biden can't ask follow up questions. OTOH if he could the wing nuts would just complain that he was trying to show her up - they likely still will if he speaks coherently and uses some big words like proliferation or amortization.

14. Wait a minu... Did Palin just accuse Russia/Putin of invading US airspace?
I'd love to hear more about those trade missions, too. I wonder how many have really been conducted in the 18 months she's been governor.

15. I am struck by Palin's lack of command of basic English and
knowledge of common words. I think McSame managed to pick the only politician in the US who has read even less than Bush. Anyone who spends any time at all reading has got a better grasp of how to string a sentence together and use "big" words than this bimbo does.
