and polls from Michigan showing O with a 13-point lead?
Up by 5 in PA
NC is tied 46-46

I don't get it. With the events of the last few days, even given that yesterday is barely reflected yet, how could Barack have gone down and McCain up? Makes no sense at all.

15. Here's my advice
Since you're here you obviously follow politics. I look at ALL the tracking polls. I then do a gut check, and try to honestly asses for myself where the race is. For instance in the Palin hoopla earlier this month, I looked at the polls, looked at the media play, and it was clear to me Obama was, for the moment, behind.

Conversely, today I look at the polls, state and national, asses the climate in my own way and conclude that Obama, at least for the moment, is winning the race.

I also believe some of these polls are geared toward creating a horse race narrative the media wants for their ratings and ad revenue.
