---If you have NOT seen this video, it's a MUST----This is who we are up against!!-- |
|
This is what we are up against!! These types of voters should NOT be allowed to vote, unless they can ANSWER accurately at least 5 questions about their candidate before they vote!! I am so SICK of these voters having ANY say at ALL in our electoral process!! Time we did something about STUPID VOTERS in this country!! (yeah, I know, it's a fucking democracy...) http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=385x197980

I just get so pissed off when I see that these people actually have a voice in anything, in this country. I'm just disgusted with these people. If Mccain gets more than 25% of the vote in this country, we need to push hard for some type of competency testing before voting. These are the same people who are responsible for the current shape of this country, and everything that has happened for the last EIGHT YEARS. Are we going to continue to let STUPID, uninformed people choose our leaders??
I say; FUCK NO.

4. Actually, I wish I HAD been there yesterday... |
|
Ya know what...I "reply all" rebuttals to those scare tactic emails about Obama being the "beast" from the book of Revelations...I rebut the emails about Obama wanting to "change" what our forefathers set into motion of America being a Christian-nation (even tho I AM a Christian)...and frankly, I would have ENJOYED giving that ignorant, prejudice, and uninformed FUCKTARD a piece of my mind...
I second: FUCK NO!

Only certain people can have rights based on their ability to pass a test... Now where have I heard that before...Oh yeah, the Voting Rights Act abolished this kind of thing. http://usgovinfo.about.com/od/rightsandfreedoms/a/voterlaws.htm

13. Yes there certainly are a lot of stupid voters but welcome to American politics 101.. |
|
However stupid they are, we must still defend their right to make fools of themselves. Who is to decide who is "smart enough" to vote? After all wasn't THAT the basis for literacy tests in Southern states during the Jim Crow era?
No the solution is to teach people better and give them more opportunities to learn.
The solution is to demand that television and radio start showing responsible intelligent programming that teaches the viewers something useful rather than "reality TV" which in no way reflects reality.
We don't need to watch people eat bugs or fight with each other on a desert island. We don't need to see Donald Trump contrive ridiculous business situations and then tell people they're fired. Enough of us get fired in the real world - we know how it works.
We need reality TV that shows the reality of political life, the law, science and technology, health and fitness, useful skills, history, etc.
Some interesting "reality" shows I like:
Mythbusters Ice Road Truckers Deadliest Catch Dirtiest Jobs
One idea I have is that you could do a behind the scenes "reality" show about how a campaign operated for Congress or for a local or state office. You could do both candidates sides but it would have to wait until after the election so as to not give away strategy and tactics.
Personally I watch a lot of: NatGeo, Biography, History, CSPAN1 and 2, NASA, Discovery, PBS, TNT, HD, CNN, and MSNBC channels - most of what is on network TV sucks since Friends and West Wing went off and reality TV became the craze.

the problem is, none of these people care what their candidate stands for, and no amount of education will change that. They are voting along party lines only.

I'm surrounded by neighbors like that. No, I can't convert them. They're still afraid of my family because we lived in the "big city" for 12 yrs before moving here.
edited to add: I loved the protesters! Keating Five, Keating Five!

she's a registered republican, and she is voting for Obama, so there is hope. Sorry you have to endure that right in your neighborhood. I could never do it. I'm in a very blue county, thank God.
