5. Shelby thinks he made the right vote against the Chrysler loan and they paid back with interest
I could care less what Shelby says, alot of Cons won't go with anything Dodd proposes.

8. Odd that Shelby is the only one to appear thus far.
Makes me think he became frustrated, left the meeting, and decided to make his own statement based on his personal feelings of the situation. I wouldn't be surprised to hear another statement with a different tone than Shelby's in the next bit of time. Where is everyone else? He said he probably wouldn't be asked to come back. Definitely seems that he left before things were wrapped up out of frustration about the situation.

12. Yeah, let's advocate Shelby's position.
This isn't black and white: there is Bush's plan, the Democrats' plan (encompassing several plans), no plan. Why assume Shelby is suddenly being responsible and not partisan?
