The Path and the Talking Points are Now Clear
IT's pretty simple.

The Democrats must now come out and state emphatically that since the Republicans cannot support THEIR PARTY'S PRESIDENT, the bailout is now dead, the chips will fall where they may, and the REpublicans made the choice.

1. Yep--we shouldn't ultimately support this unless GOPers do, because it's
THEIR mess to begin with.

2. We shouldn't support it anyway...
Why give money to the rat bastards who fucked us over? Unless Paulson is stupid and incompetent in his job, then he saw this train wreck a long time ago. I think we are better off cutting our losses and NOT bailing them out. Let the chips fall where they may.

If Bush says we need this, then we don't. How many times are we going to allow him to lie us into crisis?

3. That's what they have said their going to do
The rule from the beginning was that the RepubliCons and especially their new boss John McCain had to vote for the package if it was going to pass. There isn't going to be a vote with all or most of the Dems voting for it with a token number of safe pukes.

4. The issue is that the Repukes will propose a bill that is worse
and turn the tables saying it is Dems holding up progress. Dems need to hammer the shit out of the Repukes and clearly state the repukes are obstructing progress purely for political advantages. They need to hammer home the point that Repukes are to blame for the original failure and for grandstanding.

5. That loses both sides of the issue
Pro: Save America
Anti: Wall-Street bail-out

1) We did nothing to save America from ruin
2) We wanted to sell out to wall street, but managed to fail at even that

6. Thevast majority despise the bailout. So them owning it is good, and now
Obama can work freely and without worry about the republicans as he is more reasoned and presidential.

The polls show that he has the majority of people having faith in him for the economy over McCain.

And we did this before. The S&L. We can't attack an issue in new and different ways?

7. You've got it 180 degrees out of sink
1) We tried to save America from ruin
2) The REpublicans sold out to wall street.
