DEMS in Senate and House ....
Turn out the lights and go home tomorrow at 3pm.

You did all you could....

Force those crooked bastards,

who supported Bush/Cheney/McCain and the destruction of our country for the past 8 years,

to sit in their own shit !

Claim victory before they steal it in November !

2. Bad Idea.
There needs to be some sort of short term resolution.

Either let the Republicans kill any deal.

Or have a vote, up or down.

If there is a bill, there should be debate in the House and Senate Saturday and Sunday -- and a vote either Sunday afternoon or Monday (trying to be sensitive about the holiday).

But leaving town, recessing without some kind of resolution leaves the Democratic majority open to the charge of taking off to run for reelection while critical work is left undone.

However, I am against this bailout and I therefore agree with the sentiment mentioned in the original post.

Please, please, I say, let the Democrats for a change take the populist position and align themselves with what 80 percent of the American people want -- NO DEAL.

They have put the Dems in a trick box and the Dems need to respond quickly!!

8. I know. Because many of us tend to cave and give the Bushies
what they want. It's very sad, really.

5. Our Democratic leadership needs to simply hold a presser.
Announce that they have done all they can do in good faith - and that the republicans have decided to play politics with this critical issue at the last and worst possible second. Remind America a deal was within reach until the McCain campaign decided to use America's financial crisis as a campaign stunt. It was only after McCain decided to play politics with the nations financial security that House and Senate republicans walked away from the table.

The Democratic party stands ready to protect America - it is the republican party - under the leadership of its failed president and Vice president and House and Senate cronies that now walks away from its responsibility in the hopes it will somehow elect John McCain. We do not need four more years of the last eight years of deception, deregulation, disappointment.
