Republicans: political stunts in a time of crisis. |
|
Other than the war criminal fakery that went into the creation of the pretense for the conquest of Iraq, the sheer effrontery of McGrampStand's behavior with respect to this so-called economic crisis, a crisis that may or not be real, is almost beyond comprehension.
How dare they declare a grave economic crisis, and then attempt to manipulate that crisis to rescue the failed Palin/McCain ticket?
How transparently fraudulent, as demonstrated so clearly (for example and one of many examples) by Letterman's revealing the liar in his MAKEUP for Couric while claiming to be on the way to Washington to take control of the situation. Do they think we are that stupid?
How brazenly manipulative to barge into the bipartisan negotiations, at the last moment, derailing a deal we were told was essential to prevent a Great Depression, so that a man who just months ago said he knew very little about economics, could appear as a leader in events that he has had nothing to do with. Do they think we are that stupid?
How dare this political party, this party that has lead us into one disaster after another, a party that has ruined our republic through their arrogant incompetence again and again, lay any legitimate claim to a continuation of their misrule. Do they think we are that stupid?

1. THIS is the biggest stunt of all times |
|
1. McCain rides into Washington on a white horse with a "new" idea. 2. McCain will claim credit for "saving" this economic mess and "creating a solution" 3. Are the Dems going to fall for it?

And we the people do very little to disabuse them of the opinion we're stupid.
In any case, all the Republican Party has are stunts. The stunts, sleight-of-hand, spin, manipulation, religious hokum and debate framing are all meant to distract us while our pockets are being picked. And they've worked very well indeed.
As Mencken put it, "Nobody ever went broke by underestimating the intelligence of the American people."

a great film where the characters go back to work after their harrowing journey of self-discovery. The Pubs are still making their way home. Eight years of President Obama ought to get them there.

They do think we're that stupid.
The less cynical ones, on the other hand, are busy crossing their fingers and toes, hoping that we're that stupid...

7. Now this is a story I wish the MSM would cover. |

Time and time again the POS party uses political tricks - stunts - razzle dazzle to distract and disenfranchise the American voter as an election nears. FEAR. You can set your watch by it. I'd love to see a historical timeline showing regular and routine use of this fear mongering as a specific and well meditated republican political tactic. Don't call this an October surprise - that sounds like a baked dish for a pot luck. Call it what is is - unpatriotic voter obstruction.
