Hard to claim that as the same as violating US airspace. By that definition, we could just position our aircraft carriers wherever we want and claim that as our air space.

22. F22's aren't based on carriers

They are USAF planes. Those are from the Alaska Air National Guard. There are more photos available if you do a google search of US planes intercepting Russian planes over the past few decades. It's rather common.

Now if sister Sarah is claiming she's scrambled US Air National Guard planes to intercept Russian planes that would be a lie. That call would come directly from someone in the military food chain.

The only F-22s operated by the Air National Guard are in Virginia. The Raptors in Alaska are strictly USAF birds.

The F22's that operate in Alaska operate out of the 90th and 525th fighter squardrons out of Elmendorf (sic) near Anchorage. Although the Alaska Air National Guard is scheduled to recieve Raptors by 2010.
