How is this possible, Obama down in Gallup daily polling to a 46 tie

Seriously, what's causing Obama's numbers to start melting the last few days? Are people dumb enough to fall for this political stunt McCain is pulling, even after he refused to cancel most of his campaign events yesterday so he could go to Washington sooner, like he claimed he 'urgently' had to do?

1. Daily polling = small sample size = unpredictability.
Calm down.

3. Outlier
All the other national polls give Obama decent leads, so why hand wring over one poll?

5. How is it possible...
let's see:

1. He's an african american;

2. Middle name is Hussein;

3. Conservatives getting a hard on over Palin;

4. McCain lying his ass off about Obama and his own record;

5. McCain has an entire broadcasting company on his side 24/7 (FOX)

6. Bill Clinton acting like a Palin/McCain supporter;

Want more reasons?

6. do you have a strong knowledge of statistics?
if not, I suggest you look up the following words:

random variable
standard deviation
central limit theorem

a few minutes reading will answer your questions.

7. Nah, Yahoo's composite (an average of many polls) has him up by over 3%.

8. It's ONE tracking poll.
And there is such a thing as statistical noise. At the same time this one moved down Rasmussen moved up, Battleground moved up, Research2000 moved up... don't miss the forest for the trees.

9. I think was early positive response to McCain's announcement yesterday to suspend his campaign...

and charge into DC to fix the problem. Many low information voters are inspired by such cheap political stunts. Look for a reversal in those numbers in the few days. McCain may have made a huge blunder. He has put himself in a likely lose/lose situation.

10. Gallup is the Best-Known Polling Organization, So What They Say Matters a Lot, Even if It Isn't True
The Repiggies want to steal another election, of course.
It is much easier to steal elections if one has obtained the cooperation of the best-known polling organization in the country.
If the results match the polls, at least some of the polls, people will believe them.

Gallup is giving us a map of how many votes they will try to steal, and where.
We need to be ready for them.
