This F*ckin' Guy is Awesome |
|
Ten years ago, you'd never get me in a million years to shower praise on a presidential candidate. Whenever somebody seemed to closely and emotionally involved in a politician, I'd straight out mention that it was the essence of fascism to be invested emotionally in leadership. It's the essence of Fuhrerprinzip.
I STILL THINK THAT.
But Obama is pretty fucking awesome. I admire him the way I admire a deft scholar or a miraculous fiction author. I look up after a week of the Obama skill on the campaign trail and wonder "How the fuck'd he DO that?"
The guy is fucking great, and you know it.

I want to be a better person, and have become a slightly better person because of the example he sets. If you're going to support the guy, you can't exactly be a bitter asshole as I've been since the USSC installed Bush. In 2003 or 2004, I had no doubt he would one day become President--I just didn't think so soon. Then a year later, when he made the Senate, I was not happy about his bipartisan stance and his willingness to be gracious towards the very people I detested. Now, I believe he was right, and I strive to be like that. It is rare that you find a man of honor this day and age, but here he is. And I have to say I love him, AND Biden. They are a dynamic duo, and you can tell they have genuine affection towards each other.

6. What I find interesting... |
|
is how Barack stood up for Joe way back during the primary debates. He could have left Joe out to dry but he didn't. And Joe did not forget that. Joe was the FIRST ONE to call out GWB's attack on Barack while visiting Israel when he tried to say that Barack is an appeaser who would potentially cause another Holocaust. Joe was incredibly angry over that, and if you remember it was quite a while before Barack began the VP search. Joe was just standing up for a friend who had previously stood up for him when the media was trying to make Joe out to be a racist. They definitely like each other and get along very well together.

What I see is that he is honest, intelligent, and earnest -- and, these qualities were, last night, accentuated by his ability to debate without EVER losing his temper.
He is amazing.

4. these idiots that say..... |

oh, I don't like either of them...they are are so intellectually lazy it is amazing. I feel it is exactly as you say, just listen to this guy and if you come away afraid or critical of his smarts then I think you have other issues. I talked to a woman a week ago that just said: oh, he "scares" me....but could not tell me why.
I asked her a few questions.
How is your 401K?
How do you feel about your Privacy Rights?
How do you feel about your Constitutional Rights?
Feeling good about your Kids Future?
Lost anyone in the War?
Feeling good about your Job Security?
Ever read anything about what is going on, you know, not what Fox News has to say?
the list goes on....she had nothing positive to say, so I asked who she voted for in '04; no one. I have my doubts, she sounds just like a bu$h supporter gone south. They are pitiful, scared and not knowing what to do...I recommended to her not voting.

10. I keep asking myself, "Is he really that good?" Well, it can't be just luck... |
|
Look where he's gotten to, and who he beat to get there. The ground was fertile for Democrats, and it brought out a strong, and I mean strong, field. I could have gone with any of them. And the challenge he faces now, to conquer prejudice, ignorance, and stupidity, and he's doing it. I don't trust politicians in general. The last one that inspired me was JFK. And the few I admire today could not make it to president. But this Barack fellow is truly amazing. He could be Clark Kent, that is, whatever his powers, he is underestimated.
