Why did you vote against making Dr. King's birthday a national holiday?

2. Was getting into the war in Iraq a mistake? Was pulling out of Vietnam a mistake?...

McCain has always pushed Obama to admit the surge was a mistake. I was hoping at a foreign policy debate, he would be directly asked about the decision to go into Iraq in the first place.

I've never seen anyone pin him down on an answer.

I'm also pretty convinced that he thinks we should have kept it up in Vietnam until we won, and part of his emphasis on the importance of winning in Iraq is based on that belief. I'm not sure whether he'd ever admit it, though.

That was all background, here is my idea:

I shoot the video on location with the Ambassador Bridge in the background. (I live within 10 miles of it)


My dialog would be something like...


My name is John _______ and I am from Detroit Michigan. Behind me is the Ambassador Bridge which connects Detroit with Windsor Ontario. Due to the extraordinarily large volume of traffic that depends on this crossing we have been trying to build another bridge near by. My question to you Sen. McCain is two fold.

First, if you were President and a bill with an earmark for another bridge here was presented to you would you veto it?

And secondly, why was Alaska allowed to keep the three hundred million dollars that was earmarked for them to build a bridge they decided they didn't really need? Shouldn't that money have been returned so that Americans who need a new bridge might be able to build it?

Remember Michigan is a key battleground, and that northern Ohio is also very close to Detroit, it is possible some businesses there may benefit from this project.
