A cool moment in a convenience store this afternoon in the deep red of Indiana, Mike Pence's district. There was a very long line (a professional lottery player buying way too many tickets apparently), anyway a lady walked in wearing an Obama t-shirt. I was waiting for eyes to roll and muttering to begin, but to my surprise one old guy said "Like that shirt" and people in the line started talking about the debate and Obama and there was a consensus that Obama did well and was going to win. Now this is in a town where even the Democrats are Republicans. I was grinning from ear to ear and didn't even mind waiting for 5 minutes on lotto man. The times they are a changin'. Dig it.

1. That's good. I'm gonna be coming from Chicago to do some canvassing next weekend in Indiana |
|
I always get nervous when I canvass. It takes several houses til I feel ok and I try to do the first few with a partner.

2. I went door-to-door today in Burton's district... |
|
We asked the voters about the Congressional race & Gubernatorial too on this canvass.
I was shocked at the amount of folks supporting Burton & Daniels that are also going to vote for Obama. I heard that from about 15 people.
Really surprising things happening here!!

Barry Welsh in 08. I also live in the 6th. Are you involved in political volunteering or know anything about it in this area?

I have been volunteering since the primaries. Obama has offices scattered all over the state. If you go to BarackObama.com you can go to the Indiana page and find the one closest to you. Give them a call, they will be glad to have you.

Yeah, baby, we're going blue! I can feel it with every canvass for the past month!
