party said McCain is paying somebody $5300/day to keep him pretty. Any truth to that?

4. It's been reported that he has a makeup artist who is paid $5300 -- but I don't
think it was determined if that was daily, monthly, or for a specific stint.

5. He is DEF not getting his money's worth there.
Why does he need the American Idol makeup woman to look like Bella Lugosi?

17. He'd look worse without her
If I was McCain's campaign manager, I'd just hire some guy from Earl Scheib. There's not a hell of a lot of difference between making McCain look presentable and pulling a dent out of the fender of a DeSoto.

15. Apparently no one ever told him "less is more," especially as you get older.

McCain's $5,000 Makeup: Will There Be Backlash?

September 24, 2008 03:08 PM

So, John McCain has reportedly paid more than $5,500 to Tifanie White, the makeup artist who works on "American Idol," for similar cosmetic services. It is yet another incident of a politician -- regardless of ideological stripe -- coughing up a lot of money for the sake of good looks.

Imagine if that was a story about Obama - it would be Monday's top story on all of the news stations.
