I just watched the debate
in its entirety and i was thunderstruck by Mccain's claim that he loves our veterans. How can this man claim with a straight face that he will take care of our veterans when he has continually voted against health care, education and home loans for veterans. The sheer mendacity of this man just overwhelms me. This is a message we need to get out there.

1. I was glad Biden went after him in one of the post-debate interviews on that
but it needs more emphasis. I'm with you.

8. Do you have a link
to Biden's remarks? I'd be interested in seeing what he had to say about this. As a veteran whose relatives are mostly veterans this is an issue that is near and dear to me.

10. Thanks for that
the more i see of Joe Biden the better I like him. I would really like to see someone hold Mccain's feet to the flames over veteran's issues as I think he's vulnerable there.

3. You noticed he offered nothing concrete he'd ever done for veterans
They are just supposed to trust him that he'll "take of them."

6. He is hoping we will not focus on his record
He is hoping most Americans will see him simply as a great American who served his country, was tortured as a POW, and almost gave his life, and that those qualities will be enough to get him elected. After all that is really about all he has going for him. He sucks on almost all the issues, and loses his temper anytime somebody points out the facts about his record.

7. I WAS PISSED OFF when I heard him say that
I also can understand why Obama wouldn't touch that though because even Wesley Clark got electrocuted for touching that "third rail" in attempting to attack McCain's military experience and McCain's status as a veteran and the implied but false kinship for veterans is just all interwoven into that. But OMFG, VETERANS, DO YOUR JOB AND FIGHT AGAINST THIS MOTHERFUCKER!!!!

11. Right
Ultimately it needs to be veterans groups that get the ads out. Any wealthy philanthropic people who support Obama who are reading this should give to veterans groups that would like to take to the air-waves but cannot afford it.

13. His record on Veterans benefits could have used a
moment of exposure in the debate. On the plus side of things, There are more debates, and Obama has plenty of ammunition.
