33. You're joking, right? You're being ironic or playing a role... or something? |
|
You DO get SNL is a commercial enterprise, it makes its money by selling ad space and it does that by appealing to as broad a marketing base as possible. Why would they NOT lampoon Obama somewhat?? All jokes/skits about Palin are not written by democrats and all jokes/skits about Obama are not written by "repukes". It's about making people laugh AND making money- it's not about getting any one person elected.

Obama is black. Therefore, by showing up with dark pigmentation, he played the race card. The audacity of running for President as a black man is, to some people, playing the race card.

It is both lame and apparently disconnected from reality-ho ho ho Obama plays the race card :eyes:. Oh well back to Comedy Central and Stewart and Colbert-when they occasionally skewer the Dems it is based in real stuff and not bogus crap like this...
The problem with the bullshit about skewering both sides is that when one side is infinitely worse than the other (and PLEASE don't tell me the Republicans haven't been infinitely worse than the Dems in every way), it is absurd to "skewer both sides equally", just because there are two sides.

SNL has had a huge hand in destroying Sarah Palin, yet one throwaway line by the Obama guy makes DUers start bashing NBC and SNL.

.... unlike with the Palin skit ...... race card? When has he EVER played the race card? And some of that corruption stuff was COMPLETELY baseless.
Of course after last week's deal about Todd Palin having sex with his daughters, we should consider ourselves lucky.

36. Has anyone notice that the joke was on CNN? |
|
They had CNN logo at the bottom of the screen and "recaptured" whatever everyone said, including, at the end, that McCain did not care anymore.
I watched the real debate on CNN and this was pretty close to what they did.

|
I think they realized the Obama "race card" stuff wasn't based on fact so it won't resonate. They just had to look like they're not "in the tank" for Obama.

not just because the guy playing him isn't black, but i really don't see anything in his personality or demeanor that can be parodied. Poor SNL, it's going to be a tough 8 years.

Nothing nearly as good as Palin's "I can see Russia" comments or Gores "lockbox" skits!
