McCain camp prays for Palin wedding
From the Sunday Times Online (UK)

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/us_elections/article4837644.ece

"In an election campaign notable for its surprises, Sarah Palin, the Republican vice- presidential candidate, may be about to spring a new one — the wedding of her pregnant teenage daughter to her ice-hockey-playing fiancé before the November 4 election.

Inside John McCain’s campaign the expectation is growing that there will be a popularity boosting pre-election wedding in Alaska between Bristol Palin, 17, and Levi Johnston, 18, her schoolmate and father of her baby. “It would be fantastic,” said a McCain insider. “You would have every TV camera there. The entire country would be watching. It would shut down the race for a week.”

I'm guessing there will be a very large dowry (bribe) to help
the "groom" say yes.

These sociopaths will do anything to avoid talking about issues.

1. I'll bet they are. How sick. A teenage shotgun wedding to boost poll numbers.

21. Well, to be fair, I got married at 4 months pregnant. (not a shotgun lol, I was 35).
I got pregnant during the engagement. However, I was only 4 months, and it was a very small wedding (planned that way anyway - I hate big weddings). No news cameras obviously. :)

But you can get cute dresses when pregnant. I wasn't showing, but she could be at 6 months, although it's a first pregnancy.

I just don't like the judgment, ok?

4. Geez, I hadn't thought of that one.
McCain's campaign, however, may be overestimating the appeal of the pregnant Bristo and the reluctant Levi.

6. It won't work, people will see right through that one also, just like they did
for mccain's grandstanding on the bailout

In fact if it does happen, and mccain actually attends the wedding I predict it will actually go against him

7. Oh jeepers. If they pick a nice color scheme for the bridesmaids, they'll win BRAZILLIONS of votes.
Ya know, I think people are getting sick of the vapid distractions engineered by McCain. They are too busy worrying about their own personal finances to pay attention to a shotgun wedding.

Maybe these sick opportunists could pray that Palin's son gets wounded in Iraq. Gee, just think of all the great concerned mom at bedside photo ops they could use to distract the public.

is an awesome way to court moderates and independents (particularly women).

Pregnant teens and shotgun weddings.

Run, Levi. Run as fast as you can.

22. BTW, I thought McCain said Palin's family is off limits.
Yet he uses her kids to help his campaign. If this shotgun wedding takes place before the election the MSM should crawl up the Palin family's ass and print everything dirty detail they find. They aren't off limits if McCain uses them for his campaign's benefit.

10. Do they seriously think that televising the wedding of her preggo teen daugher....
will somehow change people's minds to vote RepubliPuke?

Hey, why stop with just a wedding.... let's turn it into a 5 month reality show instead.

12. Who gives a shit?! Seriously.
Who the hell cares about this idiocy?

I sincerely doubt the entire country will stand transfixed as yet another teen-aged bride is wed off, a' la shotgun, to her goofy, ne'er-do-well boyfriend.

BFD. Nobody gave a crap when Jenna Bush got married, as much of a big deal as the media tried to make of it. This wedding will be even more of a snooze fest.

19. It is always risky overestimating the intelligence of the American public
But I agree with you. I don't see how the forced marriage of the Governor's very pregnant teenage daughter is seen as a great thing by most Americans.

These guys are all about changing the subject. It shows you just what trouble they are in when they would rather have the cameras focusing on a shotgun wedding of a pregnant 17-year-old than risk another interview with Palin herself.

13. Will it be on "My Big Redneck Wedding" ?
Actually, such a spectacle could backfire and trigger a backlash with some undecided voters, who might see it as a manipulative and cynical ploy involving a couple of high school age teenagers, carefully staged to sway the election results. It would also tend to put the onus on Palin of who the "real" celebrity candidate might be. The GOP created the phony celebrity issue and proceeded to use it against Obama, but with Palin they are ever closer to owning it solely for themselves, but in a much more realistic sense.

15. the Wedding menu would be a disaster.......
Title: Jellied Moose Nose
Yield: 1 Servings

Ingredients

1 upper jawbone of a moose
1 onion; sliced
1 garlic clove
1 tb mixed pickling spice
1 ts salt
1/2 ts pepper
1/4 c vinegar

Instructions

1. Cut the upper jaw bone of the moose just below the eyes.
2. Place in a large kettle of scalding water and boil for 45 minutes.
3. Remove and chill in cold water.
4. Pull out all the hairs - these will have been loosened by the boiling
and should come out easily ( like plucking a duck).
5. Wash thoroughly until no hairs remain.
6. Place the nose in a kettle and cover with fresh water.
7. Add onion, garlic, spices and vinegar
8. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until the meat is tender.
Let cool overnight in the liquid.
9. When cool, take the meat out of the broth, and remove and discard the
bones and the cartilage. You will have two kinds of meat, white
meat from the bulb of the nose, and thin strips of dark meat from
along the bones and jowls.
10. Slice the meat thinly and alternate layers of white and dark meat in a
loaf pan.
11. Reheat the broth to boiling, then pour the broth over the meat in the
loaf pan.
12. Let cool until jelly has set. Slice and serve cold.

18. Bringing the focus to Palins family and failed "abstinence only" stance is GOOD? HUH?
The McCain campaign must be seriously desperate at this point.

I guarantee that bringing the focus back to her and her family will backfire in a big way!

Troopergate?

Affairs?

Teenage pregnancy?

All of the other lies (trade missions with Russia, bridge to nowhere etc)?

These people are desperate fools.

24. OMFG, this would totally make Palin the bitch mother
Because wasn't it Bristol herself whose vehement protests forced Palin to announce that Levi was only Bristol's baby daddy and FIANCEE instead of a shotgun husband?

Seriously, even if the groom says yes, there should be no wedding if the bride says no!
