Am I the only one who is apathetic about Bill Clinton (not Hillary)?
My take is: he might be neutral, maybe not even enthised about Obama, maybe even on the wrong side--but he isn't going to bring us anywhere near enough votes to make an iota of difference.

Some RW-leaning independents still loathe him, so do some LW independents--but I don't see him as swaying anywhere near a significant amount of voters (very unlike Hillary, who is doing a fine job getting out the vote for Obama among her base, thank you).

I was never a big fan anyway (but he beat the alternative).

1. That's what I keep trying to say.
He is not hurting Obama. Dems are the only ones who listen to him, and guess what? They are for Obama.

3. He's so polarizing for some people; and here I am not just neutral about him,
but apathetic--I though I had to be the only one.

I feel relieved, somehow!

2. I don't think many folks take their marching orders from Bill anymore

He has pretty much made himself irrelevant

4. It really depends on who Bill Clinton is addressing.. When he's on a show
that speaks to a National audience, he goes into a Presidential mode... We have somehow gotten used to Politics being partisan and decisions being based on 1/2 the country and not including the other half.. When you speak to a National audience as the former President, who did have good economic gains in places, he tries to be a bit more neutral, but also for the democrats because he is one.

Did you notice how Obama acted during the debate? He acted like a President over the entire United States, not just 1/2 the country.. unlike John, who spoke to Republicans and about Republicans and how well HE could do the job and how it must be HIM that fixes this mess..

5. We really need to let it go. Let Bill do what Bill does. There are other issues we need to
focus on.. the election is ONE MONTH AWAY !

6. For me, he was always the lesser of two evils...
and now he is really living up to the "lesser" designation

Senator Clinton has been doing great, though

7. I was never that "into" him.
I had a brief burst of enthusiasm for him when his book came out. I liked the Larry McMurty review of it so I bought it and read it. I like the global issues he takes on. I wish he wouldn't muddy the waters of this election, however.

8. Because he's so polarizing, though, he makes for good TV and he likes the spotlight.
I t would be nice if he'd decline TV spots until after the election but I think that's expecting way too much.

He's just a bright, shiny object for us progressive bloggers. The energy he generates could really be helpful but I'm not the type to tell people to stifle their discussion of it. I just think it's WAY silly.

9. I agree. Way silly.
The people I've talked to think Bill's agenda is obvious and his influence is irrelevant.

12. I don't really care what Bill Clinton says or does
I don't always like it or agree with him but I just don't understand why everyone thinks he makes such a big difference either way. The people that love Bill Clinton are mostly Democrats and I doubt many of them will vote for McTroll anyways. The people that hate Bill Clinton are both right wingers and some Dems. Those people are going to vote the way they will vote no matter what. Tell me why he makes any difference to Obama at all? Hillary has my respect and is doing some nice campaigning for him but not getting in the way and taking the spotlight.

17. Wasn't Bill Clinton the one who said..
"You fall in love in the primary and fall in line in the general"?

Yeah, that's what I thought. He was real good at spouting that until it came time for him to fall in line.

I don't he makes any difference to anyone except those who want to nurse primary feelings. Bill Clinton or your country?

Big tough choice.
