23. We read from left to right. Obama's on the left. This makes him look good.

In movies, typically the good guy comes from the left side of the screen and the villain from the right.

Our eyes naturally move from left to right while reading, so when presented with two different people, we tend to subconsciously view the one on the right as "different" or "odd" or even "the bad guy".

I wonder if the Newsweek graphics artists are aware of this.
