Has anyone noticed the differences between Obama and McCain’s ads lately? |
|
I’m sure this has been pointed out…and if so, please allow me to reiterate.
Yesterday, I was in the kitchen with the t.v. on in the background and I heard an Obama ad. I turned to look and saw him, casually sitting in a warm and appealing living room sort of set up, talking to the camera giving points on his plan (be it healthcare, economy, etc), and then inviting the public that he was addressing to READ and learn about his policy that he has on his website.
The ad ended with “I’m Barack Obama and I approve this message because to fix healthcare, we have to fix Washington.” or “I’m Barack Obama. I hope you will read my economic plan. I approve this message because bitter partisan fights and outworn ideas of the left and the right won’t solve the problems we face today, but a new spirit of unity and shared responsibility will.”
I was like…wow, I don’t ever think I have seen an ad where the politician was talking WITH me…and not just AT me.
Trying to be fair, the next time a McCain ad came on, I paid more attention. They showed a photo of McCain and showed “quotes” flash throughout the screen…then faces and more quotes; the entire time with a rather condescending-sounding voice in the background. The ad ended with “I’m John McCain and I approved this message.” Every other political ad seems to end in that same endorsement, “I’m George Bush, I’m Joe Blow…”
Obama’s ad writers have really accomplished great things with the approach of these ads. Once again, from the Obama campaign we are hearing about the ISSUES and still yet from the McCain campaign…nothing more than the same ole same ole and nothing more than smear.

1. And, the photo of McCain that they use at the end of every ad |
|
has him in this canned "heroic" pose with light hitting him. His nose is in the air, and he just looks really arrogant to me in those ads. I am one of the people that in 2000 had a lot of respect for John McCain. There was a time in 2003, early 2004 that I thought he might actually switch party affiliation and become an Independent. It's like this is not even the same guy. At first, I thought that maybe he had just sold out, but now, I think he just can't hide his true nature as well anymore. He's a bitter, angry, hateful old man who has no respect for ANYONE.

McCain is STILL putting lies out there about tax increases, pensions being lost, etc. etc. etc. if Obama wins. I've never been much of a liar and I'm still stumped by how easily others seem to be so dishonest. These lies are running here in Florida and I just hate them.
