Setting: Montana shooting range (not a supervised range, just a rural, outdoor area set up for local guys to plink).

My dad was putting away his stuff - guns in trunk, holding his targets and staple gun.

Two guys pull up behind him and start harrassing him about his Kerry sticker on the back of his car. One starts to peel the sticker off the car. My dad takes the staple gun, shoots the guy in the face with it, and then cold-cocks the other guy. They both hopped in their truck and drove quickly away.

Way to go old dude (he was nearly 70 then)! He's an old labor radical quite familiar with street justice.
